Once completed, the 60-kilometer expressway to Tan An City will become the third major connection to the province after Highway 1A and the Ho Chi Minh City- Trung Luong highway.

The expressway will start at the T-junction of 1A highway and Phan Van Hon street in Tan Binh district and end at Highway 62, Thu Thua district, Long An Province.

According to the plan, the expressway will have four lanes in HCMC and expand to six lanes from the outer districts to Tan An city.

The total investment capital of the project was estimated at US$1 billion under the BOT form.
