Storm ‘Krosa’ has entered the East Sea and expected to change direction to hit the central region of Vietnam at the very same location ravaged by Storm ‘Nari’ recently, according to the National Hydro Meteorological Forecasting Center on November 1.
On Friday evening, the tropical storm was centered at 19.3 degrees latitude north and 117.6 degrees longitude east, about 660 kilometers east-northeast of Hoang Sa Archipelago with gusts of upto level 12.
Within the next 24 hours, the storm will move west northwest at speed of 15-20 kph with strong intensity, and in the next 48 hours it will move westwards and possibly continue to change direction towards west southwest at 15 kph.
By evening of November 3, the storm will be on the southern parts off Hainan Island, about 290 kilometers east-northeast of the coastline all the way from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai Provinces, packing maximum wind speeds of upto 130 kph.
Due to the storm, the northeastern parts of the East Sea will experience rough and choppy seas and strong winds.
