Sen Village Festival 2015 opens in Nghe An

The Sen Village Festival 2015 celebrating the 125th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh opened at the Ho Chi Minh square in Nghe An Province’s Vinh City on May 16.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, leaders of relevant departments and local authorities, together with thousands of people attended the event.

The festival attracted 33 art troupes from provinces and cities nationwide, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Thua Thien-Hue, Can Tho, Yen Bai, and two art groups of Laos and Thailand.

The festival includes diverse cultural activities such as flower offerings at Uncle Ho’s statue in Ho Chi Minh square, a parade to Uncle Ho’s homeland, an incense offering to Uncle Ho at his memorial at the Kim Lien relic site, film screenings about the life of Uncle Ho and exchanges with artists and film makers at Vinh University and in Nam Dan district, an exhibition on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.

On the same day, a ceremony marking Uncle Ho’s 125th birthday was held in the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho.
