Heavy rain and thunderstorms began to lash many parts of the northern region this morning as a cold front has moved in northern Vietnam.
Temperatures dropped by 3-5 degrees Celsius in the north and in Hanoi with highest level hovering around 26-28 degrees Celsius.
Affected by the cold front, the northern central region is also likely to see rain and thunderstorms by the afternoon. Strong winds will blow across coastal areas at a high speed of 39 kilometers an hour.
The Gulf of Tokin and the northern part of the East Sea will be rough with wind gusts blowing up to level 6-7 moving at 39-61 kilometers an hour.
Meanwhile, the southern regions and Ho Chi Minh City meanwhile will remain hot for the next one to two days. The highest temperature around noon might touch 36-37 degrees Celsius and heavy rains may occur in the afternoons in several areas.
