Vietnam’s football coach Henrique Calisto met with Vietnam Football Federation’s Vice Media Director Nguyen Lan Trung Tuesday afternoon to discuss his future association with the team.

The media were informed that Calisto has promised to sign a new contract a month before his current contract expires.
Since VFF’s Vice Finance Director Le Hung Dung could not attend the meeting, no terms relating to the new contract were discussed in detail.
However, the Portuguese coach confirmed he would sign the contract after meeting with Dung and discussing some final terms. Under the new contract, Calisto will coach the Vietnamese national football team and its Olympic team for the next three years at a monthly salary of about US$22,000.
Besides the salary, Calisto will also receive several perks including free flights within Vietnam, free housing and a waiver of school tuition fees for his children. He will also be given two return flight tickets from Vietnam to Portugal.
In an interview with the media on the same day, Calisto confirmed he would sign the contract this week, instead of the end of March as previously planned. His current contract will end on March 31.
