The Sai Gon Railway Station yesterday put into operation a wi-fi system to provide free internet connection to customers.

Nguyen Van Thanh, head of the station, said the system allowed 800 simultaneous access points with a four Mbps broadband connection.
The installation is the first phase of a project on free wi-fi hotspots at railway stations.
As part of the first phase, with a total cost of more than VND1 billion (US$47,600), the project's investor, the New Generation Joint Stock Company, will install the wi-fi systems at Nha Trang, Dieu Tri and Da Nang railway stations next month
