Recently more and more residents in the central province of Thua Thien – Hue were hospitalized because of being bitten by the green pit viper, a species of venomous snake.
Dr. Bui Manh Hung, head of the Intensive Treatment Unit of the Central Hospital Hue in Thua Thien-Hue Province said that the hospital received nine people who were bitten by the venomous snake.
Currently soldier Hoang Manh Quang was bitten by the snake while clearing bush to prevent forest flames.
The venomous snake has appeared in urban residential areas in Vietnam’s central region at an alarming rate, slithering into kitchens, bedrooms, gardens, and schools.
Medical workers warn that the green snakes with a red tail is very venomous so Its poison can cause fatigue first but later the bites will be swollen.
In case that the victim does not receive timely treatment, they will suffer breathing difficulty, dizziness, nausea, inflammation, and blood circulation problems which can lead to death.
Accordingly doctors advise that residents should wear boots and gloves while clearing the bush. Residents should come to the nearby medical clinics for treatment soon.
