Because of the influence of low pressure trough, heavy rains and flash flood have started pouring from the upstream rivers of Da, Red to local streams and lakes in the northern mountain provinces during previous days.

By this morning, the low pressure trough moved towards Red River Delta and caused continuously heavy rains on the large scale.
A heavy rain lasting from last night to this morning seriously flooded residential areas and Cam Pha city’s routes in Quang Ninh province.
Vehicles could not run across National Route 18 connecting Ha Long and Mong Cai because of terrible traffic jam.
The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center reported today that prolonged heavy rains cover the coastal provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong. The highest rainfall on Co To Island reaches 180mm.
Within next six hours, heavy rains with its rainfall of 50- 100 mm will continue hitting Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong including Co To, Van Don, Bach Long Vi, Cat Hai island districts.
From this evening to tomorrow, the weather condition will shoulder over Thanh Hoa, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen with total rainfall of 100- 250 mm.
While, the northward of Gulf of Tonkin and the southern territorial water of East Sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau including Spratly Island will also suffer showery weather, thunderstorm, strong wind of level 6- 8, big waves of 2- 3 meters and sea rough.
