Nearly 1,000 students of Ho Chi Minh City-based University of Food Industry yesterday signed commitment not to use single-use plastic glasses and straws after participating the launch of program “ Let’s say no to single-use plastic glass and straws”

The program was held in the university’s premise and Senior High School Tran Quoc Toan’s premise in Tan Phu District.
This is the first activity in the series of activities aiming to change people’s habit in using plastic products contributing in improving all walks of class’s awareness of environment protection and manifestation of students’ responsibility to the social issues.
Deputy director of the school’s student affair Hoang Thi Thoa said that the program was organized in the school’s premise and the school’s clubs and youth communist union will maintain through activities. Simultaneously, the school managers are implementing sorting out garbage with the expectation of changing students’ habit, she added.
One of participant of the program, student Le Xuan Tu said that the program “Let’s say no to single-use plastic glasses and straw” will help increase information and build good habit amongst students and once, students’ awareness of environmental protection increase, they will willingly have acts to protect environment.
