The political-artistic program “Fatherland in Our Hearts” (also known as National Concert: Fatherland in Our Hearts) co-organized by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee marked the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
Among those attending the program were former State President Nguyen Minh Triet; General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army; Le Quoc Minh, Party Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Information and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Van Thi Bach Tuyet, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, among others.
With the message, “The Fatherland is nowhere far away; the Fatherland lives in the heart of every Vietnamese person,” the “National Concert: Fatherland in Our Hearts” provided a special artistic space to celebrate love for the Fatherland, national pride, the spirit of great national unity, and the aspirations of generations of Vietnamese people to contribute to the country.
The program was structured into three artistic chapters: One Nation, One Land, The Proud Red, and The Nation in Our Hearts. In addition to the main stage at Van Phuc City, which drew more than 40,000 spectators, the program was broadcast live at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in Saigon Ward, where around 20,000 people gathered. From the afternoon, tens of thousands of spectators had flocked to the two venues, most wearing shirts featuring the national flag, turning the venues a vibrant red.
In addition to the performing artists, the program featured the participation of various forces, including the Honor Guard of Regiment 275 under the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Guard Command; the Officers’ Formation representing the five military branches; the Male People’s Security Officers’ Formation; the Southern Female Guerrillas’ Formation; the Female Officers and Soldiers’ Formation of the Vietnam People’s Army Peacekeeping Force; and the Female Officers’ Formation of the United Nations Peacekeeping Police Force under Police Peacekeeping Unit No. 1 of the Ministry of Public Security.
The program concluded with a 15-minute artistic fireworks display.
