According to the ministry, some roads have been damaged in guarantee period. Although the ministry has inspected and prompted repair; BOT project management boards, investors and road management businesses have not done so in a timely manner.
That will not only affect safety of drivers and vehicles travelling in the routes but also raise public disagreement because toll level and road quality is inappropriate.
So the ministry requires investors and businesses managing road exploitation to intensify inspection to find damage such as pot holes and sunken spots and fix them in a timely manner. Repair operation should not be longer than a day to expressway and five days to other roads.
In case that long lasting rain impacts repair quality, investors and road management businesses must report to Directorate for Roads of Vietnam to approve temporary mending measures. Before, during and after the repair process, they must install signal lights and suitably organize traffic flow to ensure safety.
The ministry has asked the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam to regularly inspect and intensify supervision over damage repair quality.
If it is out of date but repair work has neither been done nor met quality requirement, toll collection should be halted.
