Mekong farmers earn money on early flooding season
The flooding season has arrived soon therefore thousands of hectares of rice and vegetables in areas unprotected by the dyke system in the Mekong delta provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap have been inundated.
For the last days, floodwaters in upper section of Mekong River were rising quickly. The 2018 flooding season comes earlier than average. The water levels in upper section of Tien and Hau River are reported to reach its peak at higher than 2017 or nearly the same as previous years.
Experts said the 2018 floods are forecast to reach at warning level two and it is expected to be a good time to breed aquaculture, planting lotus and catching fish or shirmp…
