Japan aid continues for agriculture, rural development

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Japan has supported Vietnam’s agriculture industry with more than 25 technical projects; non-refundable and emergency aid upto US$120 million; four irrigation and forestry projects worth $450 million; besides help in improving infrastructure and sustainable farming.

Recently, Cao Duc Phat, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and his Japanese counterpart Yoshimasa Hyashi, have signed a cooperative agreement on agriculture, forestry, and fisheries between the two countries.

The agreement aims to increase agricultural production and productivity and promote diversification in the related field. It will also promote rural development, strengthen farmers in organizing production; fortify forest management and aquaculture development sustainably, and use sea resources effectively.
