MADRID, June 9, 2010 (AFP) - European champions Spain could be without one of their midfield mainstays Andres Iniesta for next Wednesday's World Cup group opener against Switzerland as he suffered a bruised leg in Tuesday's 6-0 rout of Poland in a final warm-up.

On the plus side for the Spanish, Fernando Torres scored after two months out following knee surgery in April.

But Iniesta faces being out of action for a week, the Spanish Football Federation said.

"The result of a scan shows up some bruising in a muscle of his right leg," the Federation said, adding the Barcelona man required an "uncertain period of recuperation."

Even so, it did not rule out his being fit to meet the Swiss.
