The General Statistics Office has said that despite the current economic slump, the number of foreign visitors to Vietnam have increased steadily, touching almost 5.35 million this year, up by 11.2 percent over the same period last year.
Noticeably, the number of business visitors rose by 17.4 percent; holiday visitors by 8.7 percent and those visiting friends and relatives climbed by 16.1 percent.
The country saw an increase in the number of visitors from South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and France, while the number of visitors from China, Cambodia, and Australia dropped, as compared to the same period last year.
