On the first day of the festival, February 19, the power was cut for almost an hour leaving passengers stranded in the cable car.

Nguyen Van Hau, deputy chairman of My Duc District People’s Committee, who is also board head said the German makers of the cable-car system would repair it, as it is still under warranty. He said it should be repaired in the next four days.

Despite the cable-car system breakdown, the number of visitors to Huong Pagoda in the last few days has not reduced.

From February 15 to 22, the total number reached 270,000.

Each cabin of the cable-car system could transport 1,000 visitors per hour and the system daily can meet 20 to 30 percent of visitors’ demand.
