The weather in Vietnam would be scorching hot with temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius by the weekend, the National Hydro Meteorological Center forecasted yesterday.
The cold front in the north is receding and rainfall is scanty. The northern and central provinces will now begin to feel the hot low-pressure zone from the west.
Mercury levels will rise to 34-35 degrees in the north while in the central region they could rise to 36 degrees.
Meanwhile, the weather will be very hot and muggy in the Central Highlands and southeastern provinces, as the temperature will remain around 34-36 degrees. Heavy rains will occur in the afternoons.
From May 9, Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta provinces will be affected by strong southwesterly winds causing rainfall across wider areas.
