Hollywood director to offer scholarships to Vietnamese students

The country`s tourism ambassador Jordan Vogt-Roberts, director of the movie “Kong: Skull Island” plans to offer at least two scholarships on arts education to Vietnamese students in the U.S.

The program aims to pay tribute to Vietnamese people and the country that made contribution to the success of the movie “Kong: Skull Island” , he said.

It also helps students who have a passion for the filmmaking industry to nurture and carry out their dreams.

As planned, the program will be launched in the beginning of 2018 to provide scholarships to selected students, including one female learner, attending international schools to study their favorite subjects, such as movie, photography, playwriting, advertising, performing, historical art, dancing, graphic design, fashion design, game design and more.

On May 8, the Hollywood film director shared his experiences on  management of large-scale film projects, teamwork skill with 400 students of the United Nation International School and Australian Film University in a talk in Hanoi. The event is one of the activities supporting Vietnamese young people in art education and film making; giving a deep knowledge of the world’s movie industry.
