Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan attended a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Management Board of the Saigon High-Tech Park (SHTP), the Investment and Trade Promotion Center of Ho Chi Minh City and the British University Vietnam (BUV) on February 12.

In his speech at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City must focus on development through science, technology and digital transformation in the context of rapid global changes. To achieve this goal, the primary development of human resources is identified as a key factor.
The program on developing human resources for the semiconductor industry until 2030, with a vision to 2050, set a target of training at least 50,000 workers with university-level qualifications or higher to serve the semiconductor industry.
Ho Chi Minh City is expected to be one of the primary workforce sources.
Therefore, this signing ceremony marks a significant milestone, affirming the determination of all parties to develop high-quality human resources to support the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the country in general.
Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan hoped that the contents of the memorandum of understanding on cooperation will soon be concretized into plans for implementation in the coming time.

Professor Raymond Gordon, President of BUV emphasized the commitment to establishing a high-tech skills training center with a sustainable operational model would not only serve Ho Chi Minh City but also create impacts on the Southern region and the entire country, thereby contributing to enhancing Vietnam's high-tech workforce.
