Visiting the wounded soldiers in Nghe An on July 19, Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Hieu emphasized that the War Invalids and Martyrs Day is an occasion for the whole country to pay tribute to Vietnamese heroic mothers, families of martyrs and wounded soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the independence and freedom of the nation.
Many delegations of HCMC’s officials have paid visits to war veterans and families of martyrs and wounded soldiers in provinces and cities throughout the country on the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day this year.

On behalf of the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front of HCMC, Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee expressed his thanks to the entire staff of Nghe An Province’s Treatment and Nursing Center for Wounded Soldiers, and extended deep gratitude and wished good health to wounded soldiers and families of fallen soldiers who made a great contribution to national liberation and national reunification.
Built in 1974, Nghe An Province’s Treatment and Nursing Center for Wounded Soldiers is currently home to 60 severe wounded soldiers of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces and has discharged hundreds of disabled soldiers over the past 50 years, said Director of the center Pham Thanh Tru.

On July 20, the delegation visited and offered gifts to wounded soldiers at war invalids nursing centers of Bac Ninh Province’s Thuan Thanh District and Phu Tho Province.
The Bac Ninh-based Thuan Thanh War Invalid Nursing Center was established in 1965 and has provided care and treatment for more than 1,000 soldiers. There are now 97 severe war invalids who are being treated at the center.
Speaking at the visit to the center, Deputy Director of the HCMC Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Van Lam said that HCMC has paid many visits to wounded soldiers nationwide to implement the national tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source” and remember the sacrifice of former revolutionaries, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, war invalids, martyrs’ families and national contributors.
Treatment and Nursing Center for Wounded Soldiers in Phu Tho Province is home to 300 wounded soldiers from seven northern provinces, including 31 severe war invalids of six localities. The facility offers care and treatment to over 2,000 people with meritorious services to the revolution every year.
