HCMC welcomes over 1000 foreign tourists on first day of New Year

Department of HCMC Tourism, HCMC Tourism Association and Vietnam Airlines Corporation celebrated a ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport yesterday, in order to welcome over 1000 foreign tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in the morning of first day of New Year.

Department of HCMC Tourism, HCMC Tourism Association and Vietnam Airlines Corporation celebrated a ceremony at Tan Son Nhat International Airport yesterday, in order to welcome over 1000 foreign tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in the morning of first day of New Year. 

The ceremony is considered as an annual activity was held by Department of HCMC Tourism, aiming to welcome foreign tourist delegation and visitors, and advertise image of Ho Chi Minh City and citizen’s hospitality to international friends as an attractive destination.

Last year, over 4, 4 million of foreign tourists arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, estimated to increase seven percents compared to the same period of 2013. Tourism turnover reached around VND 99. 000 billion (US$ 4. 6 billion).

Ho Chi Minh City is expected to welcome around 4, 7 million of foreign tourists in this year.
