This is period many firms focus on sales, marketing, mechanics, electronic, information technology, construction and food processing, Tuan said.

Furthermore, Tuan said some companies including food processing, textiles and footwear were even willing to pay the monthly minimum wage up to VND2 million (US$100) per month.

In the thirst for labor, businesses have simplified their recruitment processes and have been forced to accept candidates with lower skills and less experience.

Tuan said that some companies are facing difficulties in laborer recruitment such as industrial sanitation, restaurant service.

According to statistics of the HCM city Department of Labor, Invalid and Social Affairs, number of people having job are 222,468 in the first nine months of the year.
