HCMC plans economic growth in 2014

Ho Chi Minh City plans to increase 9.5 percent GDP in 2014.  This is a decrease from the HCMC sixth Party Congress’s target of a 12 percent increase.

The city will continue reducing and delaying taxes for corporations in 2014 to aid in commerce.  This will cause a decrease of state budget by VND 8,840 billion (US$419,192).

The city will continue to advocate good work environment through implementing new support policies and simplifying bureaucracy.

The city will promote sustainable tourism development, which accounts for 11 percent of the city’s total GDP.

The city will also encourage people to export high quality agricultural products.
