The event aims to mark the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948).
Attending at the ceremony were Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang, Head of the Department of Propaganda & Education of HCMC Party Committee Than Thi Thu, Chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Ho Chi Minh City To Thi Bich Chau and representatives of departments, agencies citywide.
Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong noted the enhancement of leadership positions of departments, state agencies and units affirming that they have to provide direct instructions and need to shoulder the responsibility for the quality and effectiveness of movements and campaigns.
Leaders should develop their volunteering roles and become typical examples of emulation programs.
The emulation movements focus on solving serious problems, such as urban flooding; traffic congestion; environmental pollution; the overload in hospitals; poverty alleviation; supporting youth startup projects; creating advantages for businesses; developing and implementing the city's seven breakthrough programs comprising urban planning and development; human resource quality, administrative reform, growth quality and economics’ competitiveness improvement; and traffic jam and accident, flooding, environmental pollution reduction in the phase of 2016-2020.
