HCMC CPI increases 0.05 percent in August

August  Consumer Price Index in Ho Chi  Minh City increased 0.05 percent against last month and 5.2 percent  over the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.

The index in eight months was up 1.27 percent, the lowest increase level for the last 14 years.

In  August, five out of 11 basic groups of commodities saw the index up, four groups down and two unchanged.

The prices of food and restaurant group hiked most at 0.32  percent against last month. Gold and US dollars fall 0.27 and 0.37 percent respectively over July.
