The large-scale program aims to honor and promote cai luong, a traditional southern Vietnamese form of theater as well as give devotees a chance to learn about the history and development of the traditional state art.
Many activities, such as photography exhibition featuring 100 portraits of artists, and theatrical supplies and equipment; an art program marking the 40th death anniversary of the legendary cai luong actress Meritorious Artist Thanh Nga; and a ceremony honoring 11 renowned traditional cai luong families, and artists and theater staff personnel who have outstanding contribution to the traditional stage art are being held in Nguyen Hue walking street on January 10-14.
Additionally, a meeting with the participation of city’s leaders and artists will be organized at Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee head office on January 19, 2019.
