Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Operation and Management Center will increase the number of bus trips on more than 20 routes during the coming National Day holidays and accordingly more than 1,000 bus trips will operate from the City center to entertainment areas.
Saigon Railways will also increase more trains on routes including on the HCMC-Quy Nhon/Nha Trang/ Phan Thiet route to meet the increasing demand during the long National Day weekend holiday.
Discounts of 20 percent will be offered to passengers traveling from HCMC to Long Khanh, and from Quang Ngai to Hue on Saigon-Hue trains from August 15 to December 31.
According to the Hanoi Bus Station Management Company, 14 transport enterprises including My Dinh, Giap Bat and Gia Lam have raised fares from 10-25 percent because of the recent petrol price hike.
Hanoi Railways will provide an additional 10 trains to neighboring provinces such as Vinh and Lao Cai.
In related news, most of the luxury hotels in the flower city of Da Lat have reported full room occupancy bookings for the coming holidays. The resort town currently has 700 accommodation units with a capacity to serve 40,000 visitors.
