An appearance of prolonged heavy rains and high record flood tide is forecast to cause flooding in Ho Chi Minh City on the large scale on October 17.

An appearance of prolonged heavy rains and high record flood tide is forecast to cause flooding in Ho Chi Minh City on the large scale on October 17.

Dealing with the water increase, the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee on Natural Disaster, Search and Rescue required responsible to quickly deal with floods and protect residents and their properties.

Particularly, the People’s Committee of districts 12, Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, Binh Tan, Cu Chi, Binh Chanh and Hoc Mon district have constantly announced flood information on local media so that residents in these areas can cope with floods.

They also asked rescue forces to strengthen dyke systems and to be ready for case of broken dyke system.

In addition, rescue and fire fighters are ready to deal with floods in the city

The functional forces will hang warning panels and instruct all vehicles to safely travel across the damaged zones.
