The world’s most modern three-rope cable car system, Fansipan Sapa, was opened to public use in Lao Cai on February 2.

Attending in the inaugural ceremony was Deputy Prime Minster Hoang Trung Hai.
Fansipan Sapa received two certificates of its records from representative of Guinness World Record.
One is the longest cable car with the length of 1,1410 meters. The other is the highest with the height of 6,292.5 meters.
The construction of the cable car was carried out in November, 2013 by Sun Group Corporation with the consultancy of Doppelmayr Garaventa Group.
The cable car system stretches from Muong Hoa valley in Lao Cai Province to the peak of 3,143-meter Fansipan Mountain, known as Indochina’s rooftop.
Fansipan Sapa can transport 30-35 passengers per cabin and 2,000 per hour. Passengers used to spend 2 days hiking to Fansipan peak, but now it takes only 15 minutes thanks to this system.
Although the system can operate normally under strong wind and severe weather conditions, it has ensured the safety of passengers.
The dream of reaching Indochina’s rooftop, which used to be hard to do, becomes easier for everyone.
The total capital of the first stage costs VND 4,400 billion.
