Dry weather threatens forest fire risk

Deputy chief of the Ho Chi Minh City forest ranger department Dao Van Dang yesterday had a exchange meeting with Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper's reporter concerning to the risk of forest fire.

Mr. Dao Van Dang shared at the meeting: “Prolonged dry weather without rain, increase of temperature and wind would be able to influence to forest fire across some districts in the city such as Cu Chi, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, district 9 and others”.

Moreover, grass fires have created the condition for forest fires in the city for past ten years. Besides, local residents have been raised awareness and less knowledge about forest fire risk.

The city's forest ranger department also called for the locals for enhancing fire-fighting and prevention measures as well as preparation of humanity forces to cope with the natural disaster.
