A cold front that began Monday evening in northern Vietnam is forecast to continue over the next couple of days, accompanied by rain and strong winds, according to the national weather bureau.
The National Hydro Meteorological Forecast Center said temperatures could drop to 13-15 degrees Celsius in the coming days, but that warmer weather was projected for the weekend.
Hot, dry weather is forecast to continue into the week in south-central and southern provinces, meanwhile.
In the southeastern region, including Ho Chi Minh City, temperatures look to stay high at around 32-35 degrees Celsius over the next three days.
The weather center said that due to the scorching heat, forest fire alert systems have been set up in Central Highland areas and the southwest region.
