The mercury has dropped to only 15-16 degrees Celsius in Hanoi and 12-15 degree in the northern mountainous region.

At present, another cold front is set to move in the northern region, reducing temperature by an extra of 1-2 degrees.

The center has warned mountainous provinces including Son La, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Cao Bang and Lang Son of heavy rain triggered flash floods.

Rain and surging vehicle volume contributed to traffic chaos in some areas of Hanoi yesterday morning. Traffic jam occurred up to two hours in some streets amid bitter weather. Local people said that the issue started 10 a.m. and just ended by 1 p.m. on the same day.

The cold front has slightly affected the southern region and Ho Chi Minh City with temperature reducing to 24-27 degrees at night. At noon, it has been high swinging 33-34 degrees.
