City’s metro line project looks to increase investment capital

Head of the Management Board of Urban Railway (MAUR), Bui Xuan Cuong on October 7 announced a two month long refund plan of VND3,916 billion (US$168.5 million) to the HCMC’s budget.

The People’s Committee of HCMC has delegated the municipal Department of Finance to coordinate with MAUR and the Department of Debt Management and External Finance (DMEF) under the Ministry of Finance to hasten ODA disbursement of VND364 billion (US$15.6 million) for the city’s budget.
The municipal government has provided an advance of official development assistance (ODA) funds totaling VND 2,158.5 (US$93 million) for building the metro line project Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien. As of September 30, the amount of money disbursed for the project was VND1,926 billion, (US$83 million), accounting for 89.23 percent.
The project is estimated to need an additional capital of VND1,724 billion (US$74.3 million) by the end of 2019.
