Ho Chi Minh City celebrated the 101st anniversary of the day Uncle Ho left his homeland for France to seek a way for national salvation (June 5, 1911), at the Ho Chi Minh Museum.
City leaders present at the celebrations included Le Hoang Quan, Member of the Central Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of HCMC; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Member of the Central Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Dua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee; Mr. Duong Quan Ha, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee; together with revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese heroic mothers, youth, children and city residents.
President Ho Chi Minh’s national salvation journey was a turning-point in Vietnam’s revolution and changed the path of history and the destiny of Vietnamese people, stressed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Rum, director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
On the same day, Saigon Port also held a meeting to mark the 101st anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh’s journey to seek a path for national salvation and also the 32nd anniversary of Saigon Port Worker’s Day (June 5, 1980).
