Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai on Friday said that the central key economic zone including five provinces and cities Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh strives to receive 14 million visitors by 2020.
At a conference hosted by the ministry in Da Nang city, Mr. Ai said that the number included six million international visitors and eight million domestic tourists. Tourism revenue will reach about VND45 trillion (US$2.1 billion).
The zone aims at 25 million visitors by 2030 with 10 million from other nations and a total revenue of over VND80 trillion (US$3.8 billion).
Deputy Minister Ai specified that local authorities should focus on developing particular tourist products, six national tourist sites, and key tours such as ‘Asean heritage path’ and caravan tours along the East-West Corridor to obtain the above targets.
Da Nang and Hue cities should play the role as a culture and art center, he added.
