The Central Highlands received about 6 million visitors, including 400,000 foreigners, up by 7 percent against last year, during the Central Highlands-Da Lat National Tourism Year 2014, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism.
The event got revenues of over 10 trillion VND to the tourism sector, a 12 percent increase over last year.
The Central Highlands-Da Lat National Tourism Year 2014 themed ‘Dai Ngan Tay Nguyen’ (High Mountains, Thick Forests of Central Highlands) aims to introduce the beauty of the region to domestic and international tourists.
About 74 national cultural events took place in Lam Dong and other provinces, including Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Kon Tum during the year.
