The Justice Department and the Department of Sports and Physical Training of Long An Province granted the Ex-Brazilian Goalkeeper Santos a Governmental certificate of Vietnamese citizenship in a press conference in Tan An Commune, Long An Province yesterday.

“I’m so thankful that the Vietnamese government has allowed me to be a true Vietnamese”, Santos confided, “I promise to try my best to be a good Vietnamese citizen”.
Santos also chose to add a Vietnamese surname to his name, Phan Van Santos due to his love for his teammate, Phan Van Tai Em.
Currently, Phan Van Santos has played in the official formation of the Dong Tam Long An Football Cup.
Thanks in large part to Santos, his current team, Dong Tam Long An, has won the V-League championship two years in a row (2005 and 2006), and the National Super-Cup games in 2006.
