According to reports by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the export value of main farm produce exceeded $9 billion, up 15 percent over the same period last year.
Seafood products topped $3.5 billion, up 14 percent. Forestry products were estimated to hit $3.8 billion, raising nearly 13 percent.
Rice, rubber and tea saw an increase in both export value and quantity.
Agro-aqua-forestry import value in the first half this year approximated $14 billion, a year on year increase of 25 percent. The import value of main farm produce neared $11 billion, hiking nearly 38 percent over the same period last year.
