Ukraine’s Aerosvit Airlines has launched direct flights between Kiev and Ho Chi Minh City, operating twice a week using wide-body Boeing 767 aircraft and starting Dec. 23, the carrier announced Thursday.
Flights will depart the Ukrainian capital on Wednesdays and Saturdays, returning from HCMC on Mondays and Fridays. It takes about 10 hours to fly.

Representatives of the airline held a press conference in HCMC Thursday for the new service, which it says will “serve primarily tourist, ethnic and business traffic flows to Vietnam.”
In related news, budget carrier Jetstar Pacific says it will run a promotional campaign that allows co-passengers to fly free of charge in domestic routes in Vietnam on Dec. 23-25. As for a pair of passengers, one of them will get the free seat.
