More than 1,300 martial artists, local residents, and tourists attended at the opening ceremony, including 500 martial athletes and artists participated in an art perfromance reviving the history of Vietnamese martial arts in dynasties of Dinh, le, Ly, Tran, Le and Tay Son.
The biennial festival sees the competition of 60 groups with more than 800 martial arts instructors and artists in the country, and over 300 foreign martial artists of 14 countries.
According to Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee, Vietnamese traditional martial arts has practiced in 45 countries around the world. The festival is a chance for to meet and exchange with each other as well as honor the traditional martial art value.
The seventh international Vietnamese traditional martial arts festival is c-organized by the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training under the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism.
