Young talented violinist presents solo concert

Young talented violinist Do Phuong Nhi will perform a solo concert at the L'Espace-French Cultural Center in Hanoi on July 13.

Nhi was born in 1998 in a family with musical traditions. Her parents are violinists and her uncle is famous songwriter Le Minh Son. She began studying the violin at the tender age of four under the tutelage of her parents and veteran artist Ngo Van Thanh.

At the age of eleven she made her solo debut with Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with the Vietnamese National Symphony Orchestra at the Hanoi Opera House. She is currently studying at the Barratt-Due Music Institute in Oslo where she is a student of Stephan Barratt-Due and Alf Richard Kraggerud.

After joining in the Toyota Concert Tour 2013, Nhi has received a scholarship studying at Barratt Due Institute of Music, Oslo, Norway for 4 years.

She won first prize in her class at the Sparre Olsen competition for young talents in Gjøvik, Norway. 

Nhi has been invited to play with several major national and international orchestras, including the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Hanoi Strings Chamber Orchestra, Forsvarets-Musikk, Orchestra Symphony of Romerike, TrondheimSolistene in Norway and the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra in the United States.

Nhi will be on stage together with pianist Tran Thai Linh.
