Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index climbed the second day on October 27 as blue-chip stocks continued to shore up the market.
The gauge of 298 companies and five mutual funds listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange grew 0.64 percent, or 2.65 points, to close at 414.75 points.
Among the index members, there were 116 winners, 95 losers, while 92 remained unchanged.
Trading on the city bourse fell by 14 percent in volume, and 39 percent in value as more than 21.82 million shares changed hands at a total value of VND378 billion.
Hoang Quan Consulting - Trading - Service Real Estate Corporation (HQC) stayed at the spot of most active share by volume the second day with 1.92 million shares changing hands.
Becamex Infrastructure Development Joint Stock Company (IJC) tailed after with 1.06 million shares.
Pha Lai Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (PPC) finished third with 805,950 shares traded.
Seaprodex Refrigeration Industry Corporation (SRF) and Tai Nguyen Corporation (TNT) recovered 5 percent to VND21,000, and VND10,500 respectively.
Duc Long Gia Lai Group Joint Stock Company (DLG) soared 4.95 percent to close at VND21,200.
Becamex Asphalt & Concrete Joint Stock Company (ACC) enlarged 4.91 percent to close at VND17,100.
Viky Plastic Joint Stock Company (VKP) eroded 6.67 percent to VND1,400.
Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company (KHP) removed 6.49 percent to VND7,200.
Ntaco Corporation (ATA) curbed its four-day winning streak, deleting 5 percent to VND15,200.
Meanwhile, the Hanoi’s HNX-Index of the smaller bourse in the north dropped 0.28 percent, or 0.19 points, to finish at 67.78 points. Around 21.27 million shares changed hands at a value of VND202 billion.
The UPCoM-Index of unlisted shares regained 0.46 percent, or 0.14 points, to 30.52 points at 2:45 pm local time. A total of 187,458 shares changed hands at a value of VND1.16 billion.
