On February 15, 2006, the Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (VINASHIN) handed over the 6,500-ton Saigon Queen freighter to the Saigon Sea Freight Company.
The Saigon Queen is the first ship with the largest tonnage made in the South of Viet Nam. KITADA (Japan) was in charge of the freighter’s technological design and the Saigon Design Consultant of Shipbuilding Industry Center applied the 3D – CAD software program in building the cover, components, electronic and pipe system of the freighter.

Saigon Queen is 102.79 meters in length, 17 meters in width with the main engine capacity being 3.600 HP, the maximum water-line 6.90 meters, and the designed speed 14 nautical miles/ hour. The Saigon Queen costs about VND120 billion.
