The Vietnam Furniture and Home Furnishing Fair or VIFA Home 2010 kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on November 18, attracting 150 enterprises with 400 stalls.

According to the fair management department, demand of wooden products may achieve over US$3 billion each year, but import products currently hold 80%.
The five-day fair, being held at Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Center, is expected to boost local markets by linking wooden furniture producers to distributors.
It will also showcase the advantages of Vietnam’s wooden products to domestic and foreign customers as well as encourage Vietnamese consumers use Vietnamese products.
Vietnam ranks third after China and Indonesia in terms of handicraft exports, including wooden products and home decoration.
Vietnam’s handicraft exports are estimated at US$1.5 billion in 2010.
