Vietnam’s badminton star Tien Minh still prevailed in the third round of the 2011 Yonex-Sunrise Vietnam Grand Prix Open after cruising past a Japanese rival on Thursday.

The Vietnamese ace extended his winning streak to three in a row after achieving an easy 2-0 victory over Japan’s Keigo Sonoda.
Earlier, Minh defeated Indonesia’s Shesar Hiren Rhustavito 21-12, 21-8 and Taiwan’s Lin Chia Hsuan 21-12, 21-15.
He is set to take on Malaysia’s Daren Liew on Friday to fight for a ticket to the next round.
The 2011 Yonex-Sunrise Vietnam Grand Prix Open is being held at Phan Dinh Phung Stadium of Ho Chi Minh City from Aug 22-28. Tien Minh of Vietnam is also seeded first in this tournament.
