The Vietnamese women’s football team beat Philippines 7-0 in their first match at the 27th SEA Games on December 13.
Seven goals were scored by Nguyen Thi Muon, Minh Nguyet, Kim Hong, Huynh Nhu, and Tuyet Dung with Minh Nguyet and Huynh Nhu both making two goals.
In the Group A of men’s football, Vietnamese team dropped to third position with three points after Malaysia won 4-1 against Laos. Currently, Malaysia topped in Group A with six points, followed by Singapore with four points. Hence Vietnam will have to defeat Laos in the match on December 15 in order to move on.
In related news, Vietnamese men’s Futsal team also won 10-1 against Laotian team.
