At the meeting, the Lao PM congratulated Vietnam’s important achievements in previous time, and he hoped that the Vietnamese people would continue to harvest new great achievements and successfully implement of the solutions issued by the 12th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam under the leadership of General Secretary of the Communist Party cum President of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.
On the occasion, PM Thongloun Sisoulith announced the recent situation of his country and the result of the 41st session of the Vietnam- Laos Inter-Governmental Committee.
Besides that, the Lao leader also affirmed that the Government of Laos would continue to collaborate closely with the Vietnamese Government in order to direct relevant ministries, departments and localities in effectively implementing the agreements between senior leaders of the two parties, the two countries as well as contents at the 41st session of the Vietnam- Laos Inter-Governmental Committee.
General Secretary cum State President Nguyen Phu Trong congratulated the neighboring country’s important achievements in the fields of internal affairs and foreign relations after three years of implementation of the 10th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
Additionally, the Vietnamese leader expressed his pleasure at blossomed relationship between the two countries, and he appreciated collaboration and positive direction of the Vietnamese and Laotian prime ministers and contributions of the two countries’ ministries, departments and localities in implementing high-level agreements between the two parties and the two countries during the past time.
He highly appreciated result of the 41st session of the Vietnam- Laos Inter-Governmental Committee, which was considered as an important foundation for completing the cooperation agreement between the two governments in 2019 and Vietnam-Laos bilateral cooperation agreement for the 2016-2020 period.
President Nguyen Phu Trong suggested that the two governments should collaborate with ministries, departments, localities and enterprises of the two countries effectively adopt contents at the 41st session of the Vietnam- Laos Inter-Governmental Committee, especially focus on information change and experience about building Party, political system, developing economy and society, and pushing up cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, trade, culture, education and technology science.
On the same day, National Assembly Chairwoman of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan received the Lao Prime Minister.
At the meeting, the leaders expressed pleasant at cooperation relations between the two national assemblies, especially conducting cooperation agreement between the national assemblies in 2017.
Both sides shared important experience about building law, taking votes of positions elected and ratified by the National Assembly, coordinating to effectively supervise cooperation agreements signed by the two countries.
