The ranking is based on accommodation search data from Agoda for the second quarter of 2026.

Vietnam also ranked among the three fastest-growing Asian destinations in terms of interest from the European market. Searches for Vietnam increased by 12 percent compared with the same period in 2025, trailing only India, which recorded a 14 percent increase, and South Korea, at 13 percent.

By source market, Germany became the largest source of accommodation searches for Vietnam, replacing France. The United Kingdom ranked third, followed by the Netherlands in fourth and Russia in fifth. Several markets posted strong growth, including Azerbaijan, up 177 percent; Poland, up 66 percent; and Sweden, up 55 percent from the same period a year earlier.

Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City remained the two most-searched destinations among European travelers, while Nha Trang recorded strong growth in search volume. The trend indicates that European travelers increasingly favor destinations that combine beach vacations, cultural exploration, and local experiences.

With more than 3,260 kilometers of coastline, a diverse island network, dynamic urban centers, and numerous destinations rich in cultural value, Vietnam is considered well positioned to attract international visitors during the summer travel season.

Vu Ngoc Lam, Agoda's Country Director for Vietnam, said Vietnam's rise to fourth place reflects its growing appeal among European travelers from both traditional and emerging markets.

The data were compiled from searches conducted by European travelers between April 1 and June 30 for stays scheduled from July 1 to Aug. 31. Thailand remained the most-searched destination, followed by Indonesia and Japan. Malaysia ranked fifth.
