The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will offer a direct route from Vinh City in the central province of Nghe An to the Lao capital city of Vientiane from January 12, 2014.
The new service with four flights per week will use ATR-72 aircraft departing at 8.40am from Vinh City and reaching Vientiane at 10.40am (local time), every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. It takes more than one hour from Vinh City to Vientiane.
This will be the first new international route for the carrier in 2014, following five that opened in 2013. With this the carrier expands its network to 93 destinations, including 29 international and 21 domestic.
On this occasion, Vietnam Airlines will offer a discount on a round-trip ticket on the Vinh-Vientiane route for VND825,000 (not including tax).
The special rate will be applicable for flights departing from January 12-March 31, 2014. Tickets are on sale in Vietnam from now to February 23.
