Vietnam Book of Records (VietKings) in Ho Chi Minh City has announced eight Buddhist records to celebrate the 2,557th Birth Anniversary of Lord Buddha.

The records are from the Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, which has trained the largest number of monks and nuns--about 3,500, since 1983; the biggest sapphire Buddha statue at Truc Lam Zen Buddhist temple in Vinh Phuc Province; the biggest sapphire statue of Buddha on nirvana at Hoi An pagoda in Binh Duong Province; Hoang Phap Pagoda in Hoc Mon District in Ho Chi Minh City that has produced the most number of films on Buddhism; An Vien TV channel with nearly 20 programs on Vietnamese Buddhism; Venerable Thich Nhat Tu who wrote, translated and edited largest number of books on Buddhism; storyteller on radio, Nguyen Huong Duong, director of the Speaking Book Library for the Blind who has read more than 200 Buddhist audio books; and collector Nguyen Dai Hung Loc who owns the biggest collection of Buddhist stamps.
